Welcome to London Rebuilding Society

London Rebuilding Society provides loan finance and business support to social enterprises in the Greater London area.  In December 2008 LRS made its 100th loan since its launch in 2001.  It has now made loans totalling £2.7 million, with an average loan size of £27k.

Loans have been made across all industry sectors, from creative industries to waste management.  Seventeen of these loans were to customers who had already successfully borrowed from LRS, demonstrating LRS' ongoing support for the Social Enterprise sector.  Further details - please go to our Clients section.

We also provide a range of tools and training courses to help social entrepreneurs and their advisers (see Business Support).

Our funds come from individuals, companies, charitable sources, and local and central government, as well as from interest earned on the loans that we make.

London Rebuilding Society itself is a social enterprise and specialises in developing innovative forms of finance to address specific areas of need (see Housing and MAF).

Investors

Do you have funds to invest? Would you like your capital to help London whilst still earning a reasonable rate of return?

LRS can offer a return equivalent to 6.25% gross per annum for basic rate tax-payers, 8.33% for higher rate tax-payers and 7.1% for corporations; this compares very favourably with the returns currently available commercially.
