The homeowner became unable to maintain her home due to mental health issues...

03 September 2010

Over time her property had fallen into disrepair. Although some of the repairs would be covered by the council’s own improvement scheme, she expressed the wish for a replacement kitchen and bathroom, a replacement boiler, re-plastering throughout, and redecorating and cleaning of the whole property.

The homeowner did not want to increase her indebtedness. She also has no family to fall back on. In the end she decided that LRS’ Home Improvement Scheme was the best option for her.

The Solution

LRS completed all the necessary works including designing and installing a new kitchen and bathroom. They also adapted the living area so it could be used as a studio space. The flat is now a serene and calm environment to live and work in.

They also made sure that the homeowner was accessing all the appropriate care services so that she could continue to live independently.

Her life has since been transformed and her mental health has vastly improved.
