The homeowner is retired and lives alone. She suffers from high blood pressure and chronic fatigue. She had become distressed by state of her home.
Problems with the property included a drainage problem which kept flooding the downstairs flat, the presence of asbestos and a hazardous kitchen and bathroom.
The solution
London Rebuilding Society insulated the loft, installed thermal insulation boards, installed a self-condensing boiler and new central heating system, put in a new bathroom with walk-in, sit-down shower and replaced the kitchen.
The homeowner is now healthier and happier in her refurbished home.
