London Rebuilding Society is a social enterprise that specialises in creating innovative forms of finance which benefit local communities and the environment. We currently have three main areas of activity:
Business Services
We provide loan finance for social enterprises in the Greater London area. This can be anything from a community-based initiative to a private company with social aims - as long as the organisation can show social, ethical or environmental benefit. We also provide training and tailored business consultancy to help organisations create their business and financial plans and manage their business.
The Mutual Aid Fund
The Mutual Aid Fund is a unique scheme which empowers migrant communities living in London by providing them with access to credit and training. The Mutual Aid Fund scheme enables community organisations to develop the funds and gain the skills required for on-lending to their members.
Home Improvement Services
The Home Improvement Scheme helps vulnerable, low or no-income homeowners by renovating their house in return for a percentage of the equity in the property.
Our funds come from individuals, companies, charitable sources, and local and central government, as well as from interest earned on the loans that we make.
