The Stag's Head
With the demise of his local pub, the Stag's Head in Orsmam Road, Hackney, young social entrepreneur Matthew Graham spotted an opportunity to turn the whole venue into a modern community hub.
Matthew has now transformed it in to a community music venue, arts project and accommodation for local students.
He runs free music gigs for new bands, he also lets local charities and campaigning groups use the venue at no charge.
Upstairs he runs printing, design and textiles training sessions for local unemployed young people. and he has converted the top floor into low priced accommodation for students.
It’s also a great place for a pint and a barbecue.
