SEE What You Are Buying Into Ltd is a for-profit, social purpose business and the creator and operator of the SEE scheme.
The company's mission is to make the world a better place by promoting business transparency and accountability, and empowering people to buy from, work for and invest in SEE responsible businesses.
The SEE What You Are Buying Into scheme identifies companies that are open and honest about their Social, Environmental and Ethical (SEE) practices.
The scheme consists of:
· The SEEWhatYouAreBuyingInto.com logo that participating companies are permitted to display on their marketing materials;
· The SEE Questionnaire, a set of 35 questions that companies must answer in order to participate; and
· The SEEWhatYouAreBuyingInto.com website where participating companies' details, and their answers to the SEE Questionnaire are set out for public scrutiny, comment and rating.
SEE Ltd was founded in 2003. The company received a £25,000 loan from LRS in 2007 financing further growth and development of the SEE scheme. The SEE scheme will launch publicly during 2009.
