Bike Works
Bike Works sells cycles and accessories from its premises next to Victoria Park.
It uses the profit generated to provide a range of cycle-related activities to meet social objectives. Examples are providing bikes for special needs cycling in the park, and cycle maintenance training for employment-challenged local people.
Bike Works also refurbishes and sells abandoned and neglected bikes, reducing the need for people to buy imported bikes, often shipped in from China, and provides cycle training, with the aim of enhancing safer cycling on the roads.
LRS has made a loan of £15,000 to Bike Works to fund growth.
