Epona Ltd

Epona was founded in 2002 and produces high-quality fair trade cotton garments for the promotional clothing market.

The social mission of Epona is to improve the working lives of small-scale cotton producers, ensure ethical working practices along the supply chain, and minimise the industry's imprint on the environment.

Fairtrade Cotton Certification was launched in November 2005.

Epona was amongst the first companies to receive the Fairtrade Mark, and is still the only one focused on promotional clothing.

Epona's garments are mainly T-shirts, polos and hoodies.

It stocks blank garments and prints them according to customer requirements.

It also sells a range of seasonal fashionable clothing under its own name. Customers include charities, music bands, universities and screen-printers.

It has been particularly successful in the university market.

LRS made a loan of £50k in 2007 for working capital, and a further loan of £50k in 2009 to finance export sales to the North American and mainland European markets.
