Kenya Women Association
Kenya Women Association (KEWA) is a charitable organisation which was set up in 1997 to help Kenyan women who had come into the United Kingdom to further their education or to seek refuge.
It has since broadened its mandate and now works with a broad section of BAME communities, delivering the following services:
▪ Training and Employment for African Refugee Professionals
▪ Basic Skills Training for Refugees in West London
▪ Sage Accountancy Training
▪ HIV Awareness and Antenatal Testing.
KEWA's loan of £40,000 from LRS is to establish an International Students Loan Fund to enable cash-strapped students from Black and Minority Ethnic communities without access to mainstream finance to obtain funds to meet their fees. The fund will also be available to enterprising people from Black and Minority Ethnic communities who face difficulties in securing loans for business start up.
