The Twist Partnership
Twist is a non-profit-distributing consultancy whose mission is to break down barriers to cross-sector and cross-cultural engagement by groups and organisation to self-improvement and social inclusion by raising the aspirations and leadership skills of individuals.
Twist's aim is to promote leadership through learning. Their service is based on the idea that people need better personal and professional development; and that organisations need new ways to stay fresh, relevant and competitive and what they need most of all is not so much knowledge and skills, but the confidence and enthusiasm to move themselves and others forward. Twist calls this leadership by which they mean knowing what needs to change and taking responsibility for bringing it about.
They design and deliver training programmes for business, community, housing, education and refugee sectors. Their case studies feature work with teacher development, enterprise workshops, work with refugees and active citizenship in primary and secondary schools.
Twist have recently won a three year contract with the LDA Opportunity Fund. The project title is Create - Refugee Enterprise in Action. Create is designed to stimulate, release and develop the entrepreneurial talents and skills of Black Asian Minority Ethnic refugees in West London including Brent and Hammersmith and Fulham, East London including Newham and Tower Hamlets and Central London including Southwark.
