Ilderton Foundation
The Ilderton Foundation was formed in 1974 as the Ilderton Motor Project, to provide education and motivational training for young offenders in Deptford, Lambeth and Southwark and the surrounding areas.
IF's work centres around young people and all kinds of motor vehicles - everything from cars to go-karts and motorbikes.
The aim is to interest disadvantaged young people in training and education and help them gain personal and educational skills from working with the vehicles and IF's experienced trainers. This also helps to reduce crime in the community, particularly car crime.
A £50,000 loan from London Rebuilding Society will ease the transition to new premises rationalising existing operations onto three sites instead of four, and laying a foundation for development of new services and projects.
