This presentation from Matt Dixon will give a whistle-stop overview of the kinds of intellectual property protection available to British companies, and how these can be used to secure the value of a business.

The course is given by Charlie Cattell, a leading consultant and expert in the field. It covers all the different constitutional options (Co-op, CIC, IPS, Co Ltd, Co Ltd by Guarantee, etc.) and their advantages and disadvantages - fundamental knowledge for anyone advising social enterprises or voluntary bodies venturing into trading.

Demystifying PR - an introduction to effective media relations

Wednesday 24th September and Wednesday 26th November from 10:00 - 13:00

No charge for social enterprises.

If you are not a well-known brand, and a smaller enterprise trying to compete with bigger companies, it can be very difficult to persuade potential customers to use your product or service. PR can be much more effective than advertising. This half-day workshop shows you how to create a thoughtful PR campaign within a structured marketing mix, as well as giving you practical advice on e.g. how to approach journalists.
